Strap shoes 13th - 16 Century
Art.No.: BM_939
These latchet shoes are suitable for ladies and genteel gentlemen. They are hand-made following archeological finds from Schleswig and Konstanz and are suitable for authentic representation of periods from 1200 to 1600 a.d. A turnshoe was a type of footwear made of leather that was used during the Middle Ages. It was so named because it was put together inside-out, and then was turned right side out once finished.
Details:
- the strap is tied below the ankle through reinforced holes
- the upper leather is 1.8 mm thick, made with non-chemical-based tanning methods
- 4mm thick leather sole, also with vegetable tanning
- hand-made in the authentic turn-sewn method
Attention!
These shoes' durability is not comparable to modern footwear. They are sensitive to asphalt and gravel.
